On July 14, 2025, as part of its summer celebration at 9500 Dufferin Street, the Vaughan Multicultural Community Association (VMCA) hosted a well-received DIY natural mosquito repellent balm workshop — blending creativity, wellness, and practicality in one cheerful session.

Participants gathered around tables to learn how to craft their own natural mosquito balm using simple, skin-friendly ingredients. The process included beeswax, coconut oil, and a carefully selected mix of essential oils such as lavender, eucalyptus, citronella, and lemon. Under guided instruction, attendees measured, melted, and poured their mixtures into jars, each creating a product tailored to their own summer needs.

The room was soon filled with the invigorating scent of herbs and citrus. As hands stirred and blended, conversations flowed, and a sense of accomplishment began to shine. From children to seniors, everyone left with their own handmade balm and a new appreciation for natural, sustainable living.
