VMCA Tea and Cake Class: Elegance, Warmth, and Cultural Connection

On June 2, 2025, the Vaughan Multicultural Community Association (VMCA) hosted a captivating tea and cake session that brought elegance and warmth to all participants. Under the graceful guidance of Teacher Yaxin, attendees immersed themselves in the art of tea — from precise brewing techniques to the rich cultural rituals behind each cup.

As fragrant tea was poured and beautifully handmade cakes by Teacher Heather were shared, lively conversation and genuine curiosity filled the room. Participants such as Li Nan, Wu Yun, and Lisa offered their personal reflections, enriching the experience for everyone.

A particularly memorable takeaway was learning how different types of tea suit various times of the day — black tea to energize the morning, green tea for afternoon balance, and pu’erh tea to soothe and aid digestion in the evening.

Teacher Heather generously shared her dessert recipes and tips for pairing sweets with teas, inspiring attendees to weave small moments of joy into their everyday routines.
