Threading Friendship – Creative Handcraft Workshop

On June 30, 2025, the Vaughan Multicultural Community Association (VMCA) continued its enriching series of cultural workshops with a lively Creative Handcraft (Knitting) Session, held at the community space on 9500 Dufferin Street. Thanks to a recent feature on Xiaohongshu (RED NOTE), the event welcomed several new participants, adding fresh energy to the already warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Organizers arrived early to prepare the space and thoughtfully posted directions in the WeChat group chat, ensuring first-time guests could navigate the venue with ease. Early birds Mrs. Yan and Mrs. Meng brought contagious enthusiasm, helping to set a positive tone for the session.

The class ran smoothly with the support of experienced members like Mrs. Chen and Mrs. Wuyun, who provided tutorials, helped lay out materials, and encouraged everyone to dive into their knitting projects with confidence. The knitting group served as a hub of encouragement, as returning participants eagerly picked up where they had left off.

Newcomers were warmly welcomed, assisted with membership sign-up, and received their own knitting kits. With needles in hand and patterns in mind, participants concentrated on crafting their personalized pieces—ranging from scarves to home décor. While the pace was relaxed, the commitment was clear: many aimed to finish their creations before the next gathering.
